On this Global Forgiveness Day and looking back on this date, and what now would have been his 107th birthday, I remember with such love and reverence the beautiful celebration we held in London in honor of Pujya Dada Vaswani’s (Sadhu Vaswani Mission) 100th birthday. The theme of the centenary year was so perfectly chosen: “Be Love, Live Love.”
The evening began with divine music and was followed by Pujya Dadaji’s inspiring talk, “Switch on the Light,” and a Question & Answer session. In his powerful, gentle way, he reminded us:
“If you build your life in faith it will influence those around you. Arguing with people about these matters won’t produce good results. One holy man can change the lives of a whole town, because he lives that life. Our problem is we talk of the wisdom but we don’t bear witness to the teachings of the great masters in our daily lives. Therefore there is so much confusion and anarchy around us. Let your daily life bear witness to that ideal.”
He also spoke about the deeper purpose of education and its role in shaping the world:
“…And in the name of science, we have lost reverence for nature. Reverence is the root of education. Service is the fruit of education. This is what we need to regain. This is the type of education that humanity needs.”
During my own speech, I shared how deeply I was touched by Dadaji’s words and presence. I said, from my heart:
“Science gives us the speed but spirituality gives us the direction. Dadaji you are our compass—our GPS—who gives us the direction in our lives. You give us not just the teaching but the touch and the transmission that transforms our lives and our worlds.”
With love, I offered him a sacred elachi mala from Rishikesh, blessed by HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji – Muniji and invited Respected GP Hindujaji to join me in this divine offering. The evening was truly a sacred tribute to a divine soul, organized so beautifully by the Hinduja Foundation.
Though he is no longer with us in body, his light, his love, and his legacy continue to shine through all who were blessed to know him.
